DATE OF COMPOSITION: 2001-2003

MAIN THEME: Mordents.

OBSERVATIONS: tuning of the fingers that intervene in the most effective fingerings for the execution of the mordents. Throughout its six series, the most appropriate possible fingerings are exposed, according to the different combinations of keys that can be presented. The ordering by series responds to the following constructive pattern: 1st series: white key+black key at a distance of minor 2nd; 2nd series: black key+white key at a distance of minor 2nd; 3rd series: white key+black key at a distance of major 2nd; 4th series: black key+white key at a distance of major 2nd; 5th series: two consecutive black keys at a distance of major 2nd; 6th series: two consecutive white keys. Thus, all the different topographical possibilities where we can find mordents are explored, as well as their possible and most recommended fingerings. The fact of adding a "splint" in the form of a double note in certain exercises is justified by the difficulty that this brings to the exercise itself, which means that more effort must be made in the correctly articulated execution and independence of the basic fingers that intervene in it. Once this immobilizing element is released, a greater skill acquired when playing the constituent notes of the treated motif will be perceived.
